CEID Hub is a fully operational circular economy demonstration system: a place where nothing goes to waste and every output feeds something else.
At the Black Soldier Fly Facility, food and organic waste is converted into high-protein fish feed, which supplies our Aquaculture unit. The aquaculture unit, in turn, generates nutrient-rich water that feeds directly into the Organic Vegetable Garden and Greenhouse. The BSF Facility also produces biofertiliser used as a natural soil amendment across the garden and greenhouse farm.
Together, these systems form a closed loop that is productive, regenerative and replicable: a working model for the Africa we are building.

The BSF Farm is at the heart of CEID Hub's circular economy model. Black Soldier Fly larvae efficiently convert organic waste into protein-rich larvae used as fish feed in our Aquaculture unit, while the residual matter (frass) becomes biofertiliser for our gardens.
The result: zero landfill waste, zero synthetic inputs, and a fully self-sustaining nutrient cycle.
Transforming cow dung and food waste into clean, renewable cooking energy — reducing community reliance on fossil fuels.
Our biogas system uses organic matter that would otherwise go to waste — cow dung, food scraps and agricultural residue — and converts it into methane gas for clean cooking. This provides an affordable, reliable energy source for the hub and surrounding community, and cuts greenhouse gas emissions that would result from open decomposition.
It is also a live teaching tool: GreenVET trainees build and connect biogas systems right here as part of their practical training.
A controlled environment and practical classroom for testing and demonstrating innovative farming techniques to the next generation.
Our climate-smart greenhouse provides optimal growing conditions year-round, enabling the cultivation of crops that would otherwise be vulnerable to unpredictable weather patterns. It serves a dual purpose: producing fresh yield for the hub while functioning as a hands-on training space where participants learn precision agriculture, protected farming and climate adaptation.
Nourished by biofertiliser from our BSF Farm and water from the Aquaculture unit, the greenhouse is a direct product of the circular systems around it.
